Illustration & Lettering

Specifically any illustration/lettering that doesn't also fit into any other category. So...a selection of pieces from my shop, Rosewater Creative.

Please excuse the compression and watermarks. My designs have been counterfeited from high quality photos in the past.

A photo of a die-cut sticker featuring a cartoonish carton of milk in pale blue with a cute cow head printed on it. A darker blue ribbon wraps around the carton twice with the "FORBIDDEN NECTAR" written on it in navy blue block letters. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"Forbidden Nectar"

Inspired by a dark time in which I thought I had become lactose intolerant. Sort of the foil to the "Cheese Queen" design. Though I know some people to whom both of these concepts could simultaneously apply...

A photo of a die-cut sticker featuring a stylized red heart shape with a thin dagger stabbing through it from the top-right side and emerging from the bottom-right, blood dripping off the tip of the blade. A beige ribbon wraps around the heart twice with the phrase "NO SPOONS LEFT ONLY KNIVES" written on it in tattoo-style lettering. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"No Spoons Left; Only Knives"

An homage to a classic American Traditional tattoo visual, but referencing Spoon Theory. I can't take credit for coining this particular phrase, but this is my interpretation of it.

A photo of a die-cut sticker featuring the word "bruh." in teal bubble letters evoking a graffiti style. Paint drips fall from the letters in various places. Contrasting purple and orange strokes extend from the outer edges. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"bruh."

This goopy, drippy, contrasty lettering is very unlike most of my designs. I wanted to explore something new—and I wound up being quite fond of what came out! The drips in particular were so satisfying to draw.

An image of a die-cut sticker shaped like a shield similar to the Hylian Shield from The Legend of Zelda games. On the shield face is the phrase "KOROK PROTECTION SOCIETY" written in block letters and decorated with leafy ornamentation. Below that are a series of leaf faces evoking the Koroks from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom specifically. The sticker is all in shades of forest green. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"Korok Protection Society"

Inspired by The Legend of Zelda, particularly Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom—and a desire to shield those cute little forest creatures that so many other players seem eager to torment!

An image of a die-cut sticker of a heavily stylized pomegranate containing the phrase "Pomegranate Princess" in dainty golden letters with lots of curly ornamentation. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"Pomegranate Princess"

Dainty lettering accented with lots of swirly ornamentation contrasts with an intentionally imperfect, stylized pomegranate rendered in a style echoing traditional Persian art.

An image of a die-cut sticker featuring an illustration of a zebra's head and neck with its eyes closed in a seemingly serene expression. A ribbon is wrapped twice around its neck and the phrase "sometimes it is a fucking zebra" is written on it in pseudo-cursive font. Flowers are visible behind the ribbon. The entire design is in shades of sea green. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"Sometimes It Is A Zebra"

An artistic expression of frustration over how difficult it can be to receive adequate medical care when you have a condition that's considered "rare," in reference to the old adage about hoofbeats and horses. The zebra has been adopted as a symbol for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in particular.

An image of a die-cut sticker featuring the words "Cheese Queen" in bubble letters mimicking extremely hole-y Swiss cheese. There is a simple crown sitting askew on top of the "C" and an exaggerated curl ornamentation serving as the tail of the "Q." A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"Cheese Queen"

I am not usually one for lots of tiny details in my art, but carving out all those little cheese-holes was almost a meditative experience. Nice to know I'm at least capable of such tiny details when the occasion calls for it!

A photo of a half-circle shaped sticker with an arch made of uneven teal, magenta, and black arcs surrounding a heavily stylized eye in the same colors. "ALL HAIL THE ALGORITHM" is written over the arcs. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"All Hail the Algorithm"

Inspired by my stint as a TikTok creator, this sentiment was never totally sincere to begin with, but it's become significantly more sarcastic since I became disillusioned with and almost completely removed myself from social media.

A photo of a die-cut sticker featuring Celeste from Animal Crossing with sparkles in her eyes looking towards the night sky. Above her is a stylized representation of said night sky full of stars with the quote "We are made of star-stuff" written in golden-colored mixed lettering. A pile of copies of the same sticker comprises the heavily blurred background.

"We Are Made of Star-Stuff"

It seemed only natural to pair this classic Carl Sagan quote with Animal Crossing's Celeste, the astronomically-inclined owl. Playful, lightly ornamented lettering brings the quote to life in her sparkling eyes.
